We offer a dance floor size of ca. 20 m x 12 m.

Rules & non-binary

The competitions will be held according to ESSDA's Same-Sex Dancesport Competition Rules), with the addition of solo dances in the A class finals.

Participation

Everyone from the whole world from the age of 18 plus is allowed to participate, and will be classified and ranked, as long they compete as a female* or male* couple. But only European couples in the highest class of each category will be ranked for the ESSDA European Championships in Same-Sex Dancing. e.g. if the A class winners in Adult Female* Latin are a couple form the USA, they will be the winners of this category at this Eurogames Equality Dancing Competition 2024, but the best European couple in this class will be awarded the European Champion title.

Female and male couples will dance separately in the Ballroom and Latin categories. This includes self-identified female and male dancers and non-binary dancers are welcome to join.

Non-binary competitors may choose to enter either the male or the female categories, but the chosen dance-category gender must remain consistent throughout the competition.

We recognise that the chosen dance-category gender of non-binary competitors does not necessarily reflect their gender identity, but rather reflects the competition in which they prefer to take part.

Seniors

To compete as a Senior couple, the combined age of both partners must be at least 90 whereas the younger partner must be at least 40 years old on the day of the competition. For the Adult competitions you have to be 18+ on the day of the competition.

Participation is at your own risk.

Procedure:

The couples need to confirm their registration and pick up their starting numbers latest 30 minutes before each competition block. At the beginning of a Ballroom or Latin categorie all couples will dance a general look (overview of the overall dancing level) and at least one classification round (allocation into the various classes by the adjudicators). Depending on the number of couples per class, the competition will be carried out in several rounds up to the finals. The winners will not be invited to dance in the next higher class. We will try to let the couples dance as often as possible, but have to make some compromises due to the extensive program.
